CSHO is the President &
CEO of Colston Safety &
Training. He brings more
than 30 years of diversified
experience in the areas of
fire safety and protection,
firefighting techniques,
hazardous materials, cause
investigation, first
responder and rescue
training, and numerous other
basic, intermediate and
advanced subjects to his
positions with the Colston
companies. He is a
nationally recognized
trainer and educator across
every aspect of fire safety,
protection and compliance
for those who work in the
hydrocarbon processing and
chemical processing
industries and
energy-related fields.
Colston is a retired
lieutenant with The
Woodlands Fire Department in
The Woodlands, Texas, where
he also served as team
leader, instructor, and a
part of the department's
special teams, as well as
holding other positions. He
worked as a safety officer
for the Victoria Fire
Department in Victoria,
Texas; as a former
firefighter and EMT with the
Houston Fire Department; and
as a former captain and
paramedic with the
Miamisburg Fire Department
in Ohio. Colston holds
numerous certifications in
OSHA training and fire
instruction, and authors his
training curricula for
Colston Safety & Training,
Colston Training
Technologies, and Reese-Colston
Energy Training.
Fred Colston is a graduate
of the Houston Fire Academy
and a certified paramedic.
He and his family make their
home in The Woodlands,
